Pirelli Announced 5 Different Tyres Compounds for 2019 Formula 1
Pirelli - the official tyre supplier of Formula 1 has announced 5 different compounds ranging from C1 to C5 (Hardest to Softest) for the 2019 Formula 1.
Pirelli is working with Formula 1 from last nine seasons and they are always providing new compounds for each new season. The five compounds will be available in three colors for each 2019 Formula 1 race: White, Yellow, Red (Hardest to Softest).
The all the five tyre compounds are out for trail and test on the tracks of Barcelona. The C1, known as the hardest, and the C5, known as the softest compound, will not be marked by the strips that are usually drawn on them, whereas the rest of the compounds that are C2, C3, and C4 are expected to bear the strip marks in while, yellow, and red color accordingly.
Additionally, the company will have certain prototypes of the same tyre quality for the sake of testing. These prototypes will be utilized for evaluating and assessing the performance of these latest designs, plus how these can affect the further advancements in the auto industry.
With the recent move, Pirelli Tires is also looking into mitigating the higher temperature limit to 80 degree centigrade for the rare tyres, whereas they have decided to keep the maximum temperature of the front blanket to 100 degree centigrade.
In a move of reducing the temperature, Pirelli has also worked on making the tire threads thinner last year, which resulted in avoiding overheating of the tyres. In view of the previous achievements, the similar thinner treads are used this year as well.
The five tire compounds introduced this year are said to possess stronger grips on wet or slipper tracks and are aimed to perform better in challenging conditions that the previous designs. It will surely improve the driving experience on muddy tracks and highways when there are heavy rains.
