Model 3 Wrecked in an Accident with a Pickup Truck: $60,000 Disaster
A Tesla car owner was passing through a green light when suddenly a GMC pickup truck appear in front of traffic and caused a crash. Not only did the pickup truck driver damage the Tesla Model 3, but also hit another vehicle near the intersection before all cars stopped. Luckily, all incident was recorded by the Tesla’s built-in dashcam.
Before proceeding further, we would like to tell you about the accident. Thankfully, no one is involved in serious or life-threatening injuries. Still, people were hurt and cars were in bad condition because of the driver’s lack of attention.
As the story continues, the Tesla Model 3 car owner Camron was moving towards the intersection where the light had turned green. A driver of a GMC Sierra pickup truck tried to pass the traffic by making a quick left turn, however, he didn’t notice how close the oncoming traffic was. In the footage, it is clear that Camron was unable to slow down or change direction far enough to prevent a collision. After he practically struck the truck head-on, his Tesla spun out 180 degrees. Sadly, this incident also caused Cameron’s arm to break, but he was able to walk away from the vehicle without getting any more serious injuries.
One of the officers who responded to the incident was impressed by the fact that the Model 3 comes equipped with a built-in dashcam, which was able to record the whole event. Tesla representative then contacted Camron to let him know that they were aware of the mishap after the firm was also promptly informed of it.
Tesla went so far as to open an insurance claim and arrange for a tow truck for Camron. After checking the vehicle's condition, the Model 3 was considered a total loss, with damages exceeding $60,000.
