Campworks Launches Off-road Camper with EV Charging

Finally, the time has come when electric camping could be started. Do you want to explore nature and get in touch with it? But, worried about charging availability? For those people, Campworks has the solution for you. A completely redesigned Campworks NS-1 is like anything that you haven’t seen before.

An electric vehicle (EV), or any other electrical device, for instance, can be powered by a solar-powered camper (caravan), and its interior can be customized for any situation.

So, there is a possibility that you just get the major upgrade on the next camping trip. Campworks has launched another improved model of the NS-1, designed to allow EV drivers to explore the outdoors more easily. In addition, CampWorks build 100% solar-powered campers (caravans) that are both functional (greater than a microgrid for camping?) and rugged for rough terrain.

Thomas Hoffman started Campworks as a project while studying Environmental Design at the University of Colorado in 2017. After two years, the first camper was designed in Longmont, Colorado.

During the pandemic, Campworks put its effort into creating campers, and in 2021, the first prototype of NS-1 has been made. In the developing process, the team created 13 prototypes, which helps the team learn how to manage superior energy storage and deliver it as efficiently as possible.

Throughout this developing phase, Campworks has created the upgraded version of the NS-1 EV camper that can be used to power electric devices on the go.

Campworks Redesigned NS-1 EV

Campworks NS-1 is not just a camper, it is more than that. The NS-1 EV is developed for those who want to store their energy, making it valuable for EV drivers. Some of the key features are:

  • A mobile energy system with a maximum power of 5000W and a voltage of 240 volts.
  • A 5500Wh liFePO4 battery capable of delivering 11000Wh of power.
  • The solar energy produced by this system is 1,840Wh.
  • The off-road tires have a 31-inch diameter and 19 inches of ground clearance.
  • There is steel plating under the body.
  • All sides are insulated with two inches of thermal material.
  • This kitchen includes an 8-feet pull-out counter, a dual stovetop, a cabinet for storing cookware, and LED lighting for late-night snacking.

If you want to charge the NS-1, simply plug it into an outlet with Global Charging Input. In addition to charging your electric vehicle, the camper has a J1772 EV charging input and is compatible with both stage 1 and stage 2.
